Non NHS Work/Private Services
We can provide a range of non-NHS services for which we charge the standard BMA fee. These services include examinations for employers, solicitors, insurance companies, PSV, HGV etc. Please contact the surgery to make an appointment.
Sickness Certificates
Doctors are not obliged to issue sick notes for periods of absence from work of less than seven days including weekends. After three days absence you should obtain a self-certificate from your employer. If your employer insists on a private certification then they or you must be prepared to pay a fee for this service.
For illness of longer than 7 days you will need to see the doctor for him/her to issue a sickness certificate and for any subsequent renewal of the certificate. We do not routinely provide duplicates of sick notes already issued and it is the patient’s responsibility to copy these should they require more than one copy. Please do not contact the Practice to ask when your sick note is due, this is the patient’s responsbility and places undue pressure on the Receptionist in an already busy environement.
Counselling
The Counselling service is available for patient’s aged 16 and over. If you have symptoms labelled “stress” “Anxiety” or “depression” and would welcome the opportunity to understand and resolve them, counselling could be helpful to you. To access the service please discuss your request with a GP.

Minor surgery is for the removal of cysts, lumps and bumps and an initial consultation with your doctor is necessary for assessment. Joint injections will be offered if necessary after consultation with the Doctor trained in this procedure.
