Refurbishment- Patient Consultation

This is to inform you that we have applied to North Tees and Hartlepool CCG, to refurbish Elm Tree Surgery. 22 B Westbury Street, Thornaby TS176PG.

As part of this process we are engaging with patients and stakeholders to gather their views about the proposed refurbishment. It is the aim of Elm Tree Surgery to improve the provision of healthcare services to the local population through the development of appropriate premises.  This is particularly useful as our patient list is increasing in numbers and we need premises, which are accessible and will have the capacity to meet future demand.

Being a major stakeholder in Primary Care, we want to inform and engage with you, and we have arranged one engagement meetings on 18.6.21and another on 23.6.21 or if you may wish to submit a comment in writing to the address above to be received by 28.6.21  (up to 12:30)

Dr Mansoor & Business Manager Mrs. Sameena Shabir and the Practice Team will be more than happy to answer any questions relating to the proposed extension of Elm Tree Surgery.

Kind regards

Yours sincerely

FAQ’s.

Q:  Where is the proposed refurbishment?

We are proposing to build full first floor of present Elm Tree Surgery, 22 B Westbury Street, Thornaby. TS17 6PG.

Q:  The first-floor surgery may be very difficult to access if you use a wheelchair or have limited mobility.  How will the new first floor meet the needs of older people and those with a disability?

The proposed new surgery floor would provide good accessible space enabling ease of access for our most vulnerable patients.  The plans for the new refurbishment exceed all building regulations for compliance with the Disability Discrimination Act. It has two sets of stairs and a lift to take to first floor.

Q:  If the Practice make first floor the care and personal touch would be lost.  Would the staff change?

No, there would be no change to the existing staff, and we would continue to provide the same high standard of service as we do now.  We may look to expand the service in time with the addition of extra staff to improve upon the services available.

Q:  How can patients take part in the engagement process?

You can comment on the proposed refurbishment in a number of ways:-  In a letter addressed to the surgery, 22 B Westbury Street, Thornaby, TS17 6PG(letter to be received by 28.06.21 before 12.30). By speaking with any member of the Surgery Team or by completing the below ‘Contact Us’ form.
